Ingredients
- 3 lbs. chicken wings, flats and drumettes
- 5 tsp. rice vinegar
- 4 tsp. corn starch
- ½ cup Karo corn syrup
- ¼ cup Hoy Fong chili garlic sauce
- 1 TBL soy sauce
- ½ tsp. ground ginger
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- ½ lemon, juiced
- Scallion, for garnish, green parts only
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer or oven to 350 degrees. Place chicken wings, in a single layer, on the air fryer sheet or oven sheet tray. Bake or fry about 20 minutes on one side, flip each wing over and bake/fry another 5 minutes to ensure both sides are crispy. Once wings reach the desired crispy-ness, remove tray from oven.
In a small bowl, mix vinegar and corn starch and set aside.
On a low heat, in a small saucepan, add the corn syrup, garlic chili sauce, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil and lemon juice. Mix well and reduce by ¼. Once the mixture has reduced by ¼, incorporate the vinegar/corn starch mixture. Whisk constantly while the glaze thickens. Allow the glaze to reduce even further until the glaze sticks to the back of a spoon.
Transfer the cooked chicken to a large mixing bowl. Pour the Asian Zing glaze over the wings and toss well to coat each wing. Garnish with scallion slivers.
