Cheesy Bliss: A Basket of Red Lobster's Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Why Everyone, Including Celebs, Can’t Get Enough of Red Lobster

Let’s talk about a place that’s become unexpectedly iconic, and not just for its Cheddar Bay Biscuits (though, let’s be honest, they could probably win an award). I’m referring to Red Lobster, the seafood chain that’s somehow hooked the hearts of seafood lovers and celebrities alike. Yes, you heard that right. Our favorite A-listers can’t seem to stop singing praises about this place, and it’s not hard to see why.

First off, Beyoncé dropped a Red Lobster reference in her song “Formation,” and let’s just say, if it’s good enough for Queen B, it’s good enough for us mere mortals. This shoutout alone sent the internet into a frenzy, with fans and foodies alike buzzing about the mention. And Beyoncé isn’t the only one. The restaurant has popped up in lyrics and interviews from various artists, showing it’s got some serious star power backing.

But what is it about Red Lobster that makes it such a magnet for celebrity endorsements? Maybe it’s the laid-back, no-frills vibe that offers a slice of normalcy in their glitzy worlds. Or perhaps it’s those irresistible biscuits we mentioned earlier (because, let’s face it, they’re a meal in themselves).

Whatever the secret sauce, Red Lobster has managed to do something pretty remarkable. It’s bridged the gap between everyday diners and the stars, making everyone feel like they’re part of the same, big, happy, seafood-loving family. So, next time you’re digging into a Lobsterita or tackling a plate of crab legs, remember, you’re in good company.

The Secret Behind Those Addictive Cheddar Bay Biscuits & How You Can Whip Them Up at Home

Ah, Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Just whispering the name sends a shiver down the spine of any self-respecting carb lover. These buttery, cheesy, slightly spicy delights have achieved something close to legend status, and for good reason. They’re the unsung heroes of Red Lobster, often stealing the spotlight from the main course. But here’s the kicker: you don’t have to brave the high seas or even leave your cozy kitchen to enjoy these treasures. That’s right, my fellow biscuit enthusiasts, you can recreate this magic at home.

Now, imagine this: It’s a lazy Sunday afternoon. The sun is gently pouring through the window, and you’re hit with a sudden craving. You know the one. It’s cheesy, warm, and utterly comforting. You’re thinking about those biscuits, aren’t you? Well, let’s turn that thought into reality.

First things first, let’s talk about what makes these biscuits so irresistible. It’s not just the cheese – though, granted, that’s a big part of it. It’s the perfect blend of flavors, the hint of garlic, and that irresistible crust that’s somehow both crispy and soft. And the best part? That moment when you break one open, steam rising, and slather it with an extra helping of butter.

Without diving into specific ingredients or steps (because where’s the fun in giving away all the secrets?), let’s just say the beauty of making these at home is the personal touch you can add. Want a bit more spice? Go for it. Craving extra cheese? Who’s stopping you? It’s your kitchen, after all.

The process is simpler than you might think, and it’s all about the love you put into it. Imagine mixing the dough with your own hands, feeling the texture change as everything comes together. There’s something almost therapeutic about it, a way to connect with the food on a level that goes beyond just eating.

As you pull your golden creations from the oven, take a moment to bask in the glory of what you’ve made. This, my friends, is more than just baking; it’s creating a moment, a memory, and a darn good biscuit.

So, next time that craving hits, remember: You’ve got the power to bring a little piece of Red Lobster right into your own home. And who knows? Your biscuits might just become the stuff of legends too.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups of Bisquick Baking Mix
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, fresh grated
  • 4 + 2 TBL (separated) Crisco non-dairy, butter-flavored shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. dried parsley flakes
  • Small pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Combine Bisquick, cheddar, 4 TBL of Crisco and milk in a large mixing bowl. Mix well, ensuring to break up the shortening and not leave any noticeable lumps.

The Cheddar Bay Biscuits are called “drop biscuits”, so using a 2 oz. scoop, drop heaping scoops of mixture on a parchment-lined sheet tray. Bake for 15 minutes or until the top of the biscuits become golden brown.

While the biscuits are in the oven, melt 2 TBL of the Crisco butter-flavored shortening. Add the garlic powder, parsley and salt to the melted Crisco and stir. When the biscuits come out of the oven, brush the melted mixture onto the tops of each biscuit. Allow to cool, slightly.
